Remember your first steps in the snow?
The first time you put on snow boots?
Your first attempts at skiing. Your first pleasure at a successful sports achievement.
The happiness of learning something new.
Here we are. The day has come for my children, too.
Once we arrive at San Vigilio di Marebbe, the atmosphere is irresistible. The calm is hiding an exciting day for all of us.
We are welcomed at the Ski and Snowboard School of San Vigilio di Marebbe. Our day begins.
WHERE OUR ADVENTURE STARTS
The ski school is in the middle of the famous Fanes-Senes-Braies Natural Park. In one of the most striking parts of the Dolomites: Val Badia, a favoured place for fully enjoying the beauty of the Dolomites, a UNESCO heritage.
The Plan de Corones-Kronplatz district, part of Dolomites Super Ski, is one of the most renowned in the world, a perfect stage for these first experiences.
Most of all, it is a special place. This is where I learned to ski. Now I am bringing my children here for the first time.
KIDS IN MOVEMENT
After renting all our equipment in a store in the ski school, the kids begin their lesson. They are learning the basics. They are laughing and meeting other children their age.
Francesco, the youngest (4 years old), is working out on the treadmill, where he is getting his first experiences at the Kinderland.
This place is perfect. Expert instructors, kind and with a professionalism that engages us and prompts our own enthusiasm.
You can see the passion for this sport in their eyes. What fun!
Cristina, the oldest at 9, is continuing the course she began years ago and is attempting more complex manoeuvres, all thanks for the safety and support of the super competent staff. She tries out the snowboard and seems utterly delighted.
There are fabulous times like the torchlight procession, a unique and exhilarating event. There are many other opportunities to have fun together.
REST AND PLAY
After the lessons, there is a chance to unwind. This bit of relaxation and togetherness is also part of the unique experience of the day.
The kids show all their enthusiasm. They are talking about their excitement. They are making friends with youngsters their age who shared the course.
I am smiling. It’s so satisfying to know that I have passed along my taste for skiing. And I have to give credit to the team at the San Vigilio di Marebbe Ski & Snowboard School.
After lunch, the games and recreation continues in the school’s playgroup. The break is related to play. Energy is combined with satisfaction and memories that they will hold forever. Moments of pure happiness.
A wonderful day. The beauty of sports. The powerful harmony of nature. Their enthusiasm at having experienced a one-of-a-kind day, and mine at feeling like a child again! See you soon.
